How Faith Guided Me:

In life’s journey, when you’re finding strength in tough times, there are moments when the road ahead seems impassable and when the weight of the world feels too heavy to bear.

It’s during these times of darkness that we often find ourselves reaching out for a glimmer of hope. For something to anchor our souls amidst the turmoil.

For me, this anchor came in the form of faith, and it carried me through the most difficult time of my life.

However, through the grace of the Lord and the unwavering power of faith. I’ve learned that even in the darkest of moments, there is light to be found.

In this blog post (you can also check out last week’s post if you missed it), I want to share my journey of overcoming tough times and how the Lord brought me through it, shining a beacon of hope and strength along the way.

Embracing the Storm:

The journey of finding strength in tough times often begins with acknowledging the storm. For me, it was a period of intense personal struggle, filled with doubt, fear, and uncertainty.

I questioned my decisions, doubted my abilities, and felt lost in a sea of despair.

Through prayer and meditation, I discovered a sense of peace that surpassed all understanding. A peace that anchored me amidst the storm and gave me the courage to press on.

Several weeks ago, I found myself engulfed in a storm of challenges (that I shared in this post). From personal struggles to professional setbacks. It felt as though every aspect of my life was crumbling around me.

The future seemed uncertain, and despair threatened to consume me whole.

I was dealing with one thing after another. The straw that broke the camel’s back was my husband bringing something to my attention that was so off base. I was caught off guard and was like, I can’t deal with this right now.

Things that used to be fun for me were no longer fun. I was trying not to be around certain people because they would ask questions I didn’t have answers to or just didn’t want to answer. I preferred to be by myself.

Finding Refuge in Faith:

The Lord would whisper, reach outtalk to them, or make them food and it seemed as though every door I tried to open slammed shut in my face, leaving me feeling defeated and alone.

Yet, amidst the chaos, a quiet voice whispered to me, urging me to hold on, have faith, and trust in the greater plan unfolding before me.

During my darkest moments, I turned to my faith for solace and guidance. I sought refuge in prayer, pouring my heart to the Lord and surrendering my burdens at His feet.

Amid my pain, I found strength in the promises of scripture, knowing that God was with me every step of the way.

Discovering God’s Plan:

As I leaned into my faith, I began to see glimpses of God’s plan unfolding before me. What once seemed like insurmountable obstacles were now opportunities for growth and transformation.

I realized that God was using my struggles to shape me into the person He intended me to be, molding me into a vessel of His grace and love.

With each passing day, I felt His presence guiding me, leading me down paths I never thought possible, and opening doors I never knew existed.

It wasn’t until one day, I had an epiphany. I was tired of being in the mood I was in, but at the time, I couldn’t see a way out and I remember my uncle telling me, “It’s not what it looks like!”

To me, my situation looked dire, I thought I was at the end of a thing, and I wasn’t sure when it was going to happen, but I did feel like something was going to happen and it wasn’t going to be good.

Trusting God Through the Challenges:

For 4 weeks, I dealt with this, and the week I came back from WorkbenchCon, I came back with new vigor, yet the same thing was happening.

So, I started praying for me to see things differently and noticed I had been looking at the person and how I was being treated instead of recognizing that the Lord was showing me myself in this process.

He wanted me to know I was handling it in a way that wasn’t pleasing to Him and once I realized that, it clicked. I went in with a whole new look ready to address the spirit and not the person.

Late in the midnight hour, God turned it around, like for real.

When I asked the Lord about it, He told me:

Every aspect of your life I’ve designed

Every test is an opportunity for elevation

When you find yourself struggling with a situation, tell yourself what you know to be true

Don’t talk about what you see, talk about how the situation will change

Your words have power and the more you use your words to speak blessings over your life, you’ll see your situation differently and the circumstances changed

Remember your feelings are indicators not dwelling places

Pay attention to them but don’t let them dictate how you respond

I will always be there for you

Those quiet times that you recognize are just me letting you know I’m listening

And there’s nothing that you can’t share with me that I don’t already know

Walking in Victory:

Though the journey was long and fraught with challenges, I emerged from the darkness stronger and more resilient than ever before.

Through the grace of the Lord, I found the courage to face my fears, the strength to overcome adversity, and the faith to believe in a brighter tomorrow.

Today, I stand as a testimony to God’s unwavering love and faithfulness, knowing that He who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion.

In life, we will undoubtedly face moments of adversity and hardship, but we do not have to face them alone.

Through the power of faith and the grace of the Lord, we can find strength, hope, and victory during the storm.

My journey of overcoming tough times taught me that no matter how dark the night may seem, the dawn will always break, bringing with it the promise of a new day.

So let us hold fast to our faith, trusting in the Lord’s unfailing love, for He is our rock, our refuge, and our strength in times of trouble.
