My family was hit with some news that was hard to swallow. I mean news that makes you question
your aspect on life. It makes you wonder why, how, when, etcetera.
It’s those times where you are questioning the unknown, you feel defeated. You feel like wallowing
in your own self pity and you wonder if God is really there.
We’ve all been there and wondered how we were going to get out of the situation.
The thing is, even in those times where we question everything around us, God is still there.
He is still with us, waiting for us to come to Him, so He can comfort us, put some of our pain at
ease, and even answer some of the questions we have.
He will always silence the negativity going on inside us and fill our hearts and minds with His joy,
His peace, and His love. Just because we are unsure about what will happen, doesn’t mean the
Lord is.
As a believer, I too am faced with this very thing. Instead of focusing on the negative, which we
often tend to do, we need to remember to fill our hearts and minds with things that are true,
honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think
on these things (Philippians 4:8).
Don’t get me wrong sometimes it isn’t easy, and a lot of times, we want to be mad, angry, or upset.
We may even want to drown our sorrows
in a tub of Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream and See’s candy (yes, it happens). But, we can do all
those things and then be like Elsa and, yes, you guessed
it…LET IT GO! Let it go…you know the words.
As the news was being shared, a calm came over me and I heard the Lord say:
Who’s report will you believe
Mine or someone else’s
Why when we hear bad news we think it’s happening to us, not happening for us
Not one thing that I allow you to go through will not work for your benefit
This all may come as a surprise to you, but it wasn’t to Me
I know all, I see all and I am in the midst of it all
Trust Me
Believe what I tell you
And allow Me to do the work that needs to be done in you
I am with you through it all
You are never alone
I am always and will always be with you
Can I get an Amen for a hug from Jesus! Boy,
He sure knows what we need when we need it. I mean,
how awesome is it that when we are spinning our wheels about what is going on around us,
He can step in, and give us hope!
Keep my family in your prayers, hug your loved ones a little tighter, and remember that no matter
what we go through, nothing is too hard for God.
